About ChrissySue

cropped-drama_masks_l.jpgHaving learned early on to have a hearty laugh instead of crying, Christi just tries to roll with the punches. She juggles the normal mothering mania of laundry, dishes, dust and dinner, and shows off by shuttling the mom van to soccer practices, fetching forgotten homework and not flipping out over last-minute science fair madness. As a mother of three kids (ages 14-18) each with different struggles, she refuses to allow a diagnosis to define them. With mental illnesses and learning disorders, life is a constant struggle behind the front door no one sees.

But that’s not all that makes life a challenge around the Campbell home front. Christi was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation 5 years ago and while it’s been good to have a finger to point toward all the extra heaping helpings of  pain and chaos this provides, it’s also not something that Christi is about to let define her either. It’s one more reason to set her jaw firmly and plant her feet fast. If she’s one thing, it’s stubborn, and it’s what keeps her rooted and sane amongst the craziness of life.

Join her here at the blog for a look beyond the front door, where there are no masks to wear, assures you it won’t always be pretty, but promises to be real, honest, and to lay it out as it is.

It’s too exhausting to mask up everyday for everyone. Accept the reality as it is… or find a saner blog to visit.

I was made aware of your diagnosis by a dear friend. I completely understand what you are dealing with, as my daughter had the same diagnosis a few years ago. Since that time, I have had another friend who received the diagnosis for their child- and her daughter has already had her decompression surgery.
If you are interested in contacting me, I would be happy to tell you what we found out during our journey and make some recommendations to you.
Keep trusting our big God who is still in control.
    Blessings to you.
